Community Care

At Pepitas, we believe community is something you build on purpose. We're developing a new program called Pepitas Community Care. It's how we come together to protect our families' rights, welcome new families in, and take care of each other all year long. Parents, staff and the nighborhood together. Everyone belongs. Everyone can contribute.

Here's what we have going on:

Updated Immigration Rights Crisis Plan We've updated our crisis plan with new resources for families. Feel free to use it and share it widely. View the plan here.

Free Family Emergency Planning Event — June 7th at 3pm All families are welcome, whether or not your child attends Pepitas. We'll have forms printed, a notary on site, and people ready to answer questions. We're not legal experts, but we have resources and we'll help however we can. Please note that all legal guardians will need to be present with valid ID. Learn more here.

Kaleidoscope Play and Learn - Starting in September! We are thrilled to have Kathy Foster joining us to head up our new Kaleidoscope Play and Learn (KPL) program. KPL brings together young children and their caregivers for facilitated play groups focused on early learning, connection, and community — no special materials needed. Sessions are built around a simple truth: you already have what it takes. We're especially hoping to reach families with children under three, filling a real gap in our area since the pandemic. This is a natural extension of what Pepitas has always been about: meeting families where they are and building something lasting together.

If you would like to get involved and support Community Care with Pepitas, please reach out to Melissa at melissa@pepitaspreschool.com.
