We are almost to the Friday BEFORE actual Black Friday, I’m already getting blasted by so many marketing messages! People, we have not even come to Thanksgiving yet. This is crazy. I hope you have a good Thanksgiving week with meaningful time with the people you love and a chance to express gratitude for God’s goodness.
I want to share with you something that could be a great opportunity for you and your family or friends to do some in person gifting and volunteering. Several people have recommended Holly House, an organization which helps families with less do some shopping for Christmas. There are SO MANY open slots for volunteers to help with this event, or bring cookies, as well as to purchase items from Amazon on their wish list. Check out the details of this event. Our colleagues at Calvin Presbyterian Church are the hosting site this year.

Holly House For Kids is dedicated to uplifting the lives of low-income
children in Snohomish County. We strive to provide essential gifts and
necessities that bring joy and hope to those in need. Help us support the
2,000+ low-income children that we serve in December.

Local volunteers work year round in Lynnwood to bring the joy of the holidays to struggling children in our community by providing a free shopping experience for parents to obtain both necessities and gifts.
Operating as a pop-up shopping experience for one weekend in December, parents and foster parents struggling to make ends meet can shop for free. Items such as pajamas, warm socks, books, and toys are selected by parents to provide for their kids during this joyous season. Shoppers enjoy warm coffee and holiday cookies while waiting.
This year's event is happening at Calvin Presbyterian church on the first weekend of December. It takes a week and an army of elves to set up for and run this event and so they are looking for smiling faces that want to lend a hand.
